The Orbital Station began receiving fewer signals from the surface until they halted altogether. Communication with the planet was lost. With no meaningful proximity threat, T.I.T.A.N. again turned its attention to the sky, this time tracking the chain that made up the Orbital station. As it began launching its deterrent systems, leaders of the chain were faced with an impossible decision. Await certain death, or turn the Celestial Defense Systems on the planet. These defenses were designed to destroy large asteroids that threatened the planet, but collectively focused on T.I.T.A.N. would undoubtedly stop the station, but at the cost of the planet and all who remained. Once fired, the stations survivors would be forced to evacuate in hopes of reaching the NovaTerra colony, and an uncertain future. With only moments to decide the fate of mankind, the Orbital Station repositioned its defense systems and prepared evacuation.
